Northern Thai massage (sometimes called "lazy persons yoga") is a fully clothed therapy performed on a firm floor mat. The practitioner uses their palms, fingers, forearms, elbows, knees and feet to perform rhythmic pressure, work the energy lines (Sen lines), assist progressive stretching, bring you into some yoga postures, and breath work to allow the energy lines (Sen lines and Nadis) to open, flow and balance. This rhythmic therapy allows one to enter into a state of deep relaxation as well as allowing any imbalance of energy to flow through and out of the body. The Northern style uses more stretches than any other style.

This treatment targets the body region that pain often occurs. Myofascial cupping is used to start the session to increase blood flow to the micro cellular level and breakdown scar tissue. Trigger point therapy is next to reduce pain that often refers to other areas. Then myofascial, deep tissue and neuromuscular techniques are used based on the need of the individual. Lastly, PNF stretching (proprioreceptive neuromuscular facilitation) is used to enhance both active and passive range of motion and to improve motor performance and aid rehabilitation.
This massage is perfect for people seeking a therapeutic massage that helps ease pain caused by myoskeletal dysfunctions or simply want to increase flexibility.
