Therapeutic massage is the manipulation of the body’s soft tissues. Massage techniques are commonly applied with hands, fingers, elbows, forearms, combined with myofascial massage, trigger point therapy and deep tissue to get to the underlying muscles, and passive-resistive stretching techniques.
The purpose of a therapeutic massage is for the treatment of the body to reduce discomfort by working on specific areas of muscle tension, using slow, deep strokes. It is common for the therapist to apply pressure that feels intense at the time, but the goal is to release tension and knots in the muscle, stress, pain, and work on specific problems such as carpal tunnel, thoracic outlet, and body posture, or injuries, such as chronic pain or limited mobility, while promoting relaxation and to reduce stress (not to cause pain).

This is an option for finding out exactly what your body is made of! A small sample of hair is sent to a laboratory to have it examined for mineral deficiencies (or excesses), and additional information such as heavy metal levels. Recommendations from the laboratory are included.
ELECTRICAL STIMULATION

The use of low electrical impulses can serve two purposes. One is to stimulate muscles to function properly again after a period of immobilization (such as after an injury). Another use is to continuously stimulate muscles until they fatigue, and release an area that has been tense.

INITIAL FREE CONSULTATION REQUIREMENT
Free 15-minute consultation is required for each new client. Ami Bouterse, SLP/Owner will meet with you via Google Meets (Use "Book With Ami" button above). At this appointment, client and therapist will determine if it's a good fit and also if any referrals may be needed. The appropriate evaluation (see below) will be scheduled during this consultation.

PAYMENT OPTIONS
All services are currently offered for private pay only via cash or credit card. In Wisconsin, speech pathologists are not able to charge Medicaid or Medicare clients privately. Any client meeting this criteria (having access to Medicaid or Medicare coverage) will need to be seen by another provider. While About Voice - Speech Therapy Services doesn't currently accept insurance, we can provide you with a Superbill (itemized list of services rendered) for you to submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. Prior to booking, potential clients should first ask their insurance companies about out-of-network benefits to see if out-of-network speech therapy services may be covered. Some types of therapies may be covered by a health savings account (HSA) or flexible savings account (FSA). Submit the Superbill to your insurance and/or HSA/FSA accounts to see if you qualify for possible reimbursement.
